Ah, the 70s! It gave birth to Star Wars, Saturday Night Fever and Pot Noodles…yes, I did watch ‘I Love 1977′ on BBC2!
Helen Ruff founder of Doily Days, who I have previously featured here, has finally unveiled her 1970s Chill Out Area. It is more sophisticated dinner parties of the Seventies than the festival vibe of Glastonbury that I was imagining and I love it! Reminiscent of a swingers party (keys in the bowl affair) it immediately reminded me of that fantastic movie ‘The Ice Storm’, if you haven’t seen it, you should! Of course it may remind you of your childhood home (I am a child of the 80s) and will transport you right back there with authentic furniture and props including fake fruit, kitsch ornaments, retro jigsaw, old magazines and plants.

There is the all important retro drinks cabinet that you can stock with your favourite tipple, you can keep in with the theme by stocking drinks made popular in the 70s such as Kahlua or how about mixing up a Harvey Wallbanger (Vodka, orange and Galliano)?

The 1970s living room will be transported and completely set up at your venue. The cost of this is approximately £500 plus the cost of transportation, depending on your postcode. Contact Helen at Doily Days for a quote.
Making an excellent backdrop for your photo’s, it would make a fantastic addition to a Seventies or retro/vintage themed party or wedding and will wow your guests!
